LEARNING RESOURCES
Simply the best math channel on YouTube.
Before starting your traditional university courses, I highly recommend watching the "Essence of Calculus" and "Essence of Linear Algebra" playlists. Everything will be SO much more intuitive!
Website with written and interactive materials to supplement video lessons.

By now, it's hard not to know about Hank and John Green, the dynamic duo behind the wildly popular Crash Course educational series. With a vast collection of engaging content covering everything from science and history to literature and philosophy, millions of students have benefitted from their innovative approach to learning. It's no wonder they've become a household name in the world of online education. #DFTBA
Vihart is an entertaining & brilliant mathemusician. This might not be the right channel if you're cramming for a specific test, but it might make you understand and even LIKE your geometry and algebra classes!
"I'm not gonna try to teach you math – just how to wield it for doodling purposes."
- Vihart
The Organic Chemistry Tutor built a valuable video library of tutorials that cover a wide range of subjects, including AP & General Chemistry, basic math, biology, biochemistry, and much more. The lessons help clarify traditional classroom topics and cover textbook-style problems commonly found on standardized tests. Check out the comments section to get a sense of how much they've helped other students!
"Raise your hand let me know you're okay with that."
"Does that make sense to you?"
- Professor Leonard
Professor Leonard’s thorough whiteboard lectures, complete with numerous worked examples, are highly valuable for students seeking to succeed in traditional coursework. What I think sets him apart is his ability to guide students through his thought process as he solves problems. By explaining each technique students may encounter in homework, and how to apply it to specific questions, he provides a comprehensive understanding of the underlying concepts. Plus, he frequently summarizes the key takeaways, ensuring that students remember the most important ideas.
Topics: Algebra, Trig, Precalc, Calculus 1,2, & 3, Statistics, and Differential Equations
It breaks my heart when my students tell me they don't like their physics class because it's boring. Everyone deserves to learn physics from a passionate nerd like Professor Lewin!
Physics 1: Classical Mechanics, Physics 2: Electricity & Magnetism, and Physics 3: Vibrations & Waves by Professor Lewin are a few of the many courses offered by MIT OpenCourseWare.
"I will show you, whether you like it or not, that physics is beautiful."
- Professor Walter Lewin
The Mechanical Universe, a physics series from the 1980s, holds up remarkably well and offers an engaging exploration of the fundamental principles of the universe. Its accessible approach makes it appealing to both physics enthusiasts and casual viewers.
It is worth noting that many women featured in the lecture hall did not attend Caltech and were brought in solely for production purposes.
My physics professor, a Nobel laureate, created simulations to help us visualize the complex topics he covered in class. Since then, PhET has grown into a vast collection of interactive simulations and teaching resources covering physics, chemistry, math, earth science, and biology.
I've been using this website for years, and it keeps getting bigger and better! Tutorials, interactives, videos, problem sets... basically everything you need to teach or learn physics and chemistry!
I still love these 1960s physics lectures by the Great Explainer.
"I'm going to have fun telling you this absurdity, because I find it delightful."
- Richard Feynman
Comprehensive, well-organized notes with plenty of practice problems and solutions.
